My husband and I rented the Ridnour room and south loft almost a year before our wedding. It was our first step in wedding planning, and we were nervous. By the end of the entire process, I now know that the Ridnour room is one of the most professional vendors out there — we were never lead to believe we were being scammed, and Crystal helped us navigate the entire process of rental and payment. Communication was quick and easy, and I never felt belittled for any question I asked (and there were many). The loft was beautiful, and I’m so glad we reserved it for two nights, as it allowed my bridesmaids to be on-time for hair and makeup, and served as a quick refuge from HOURS on our feet at the end of the night. We had our wedding reception in the Ridnour Room a few weeks ago and it was the perfect space for it. The room is big enough for a large crowd and has designated spaces for a dinner buffet, the bar, and the DJ booth, which was so helpful with room setup. Being able to use your choice of caterer and provide your own alcohol was definitely a plus too! I worked with Crystal throughout the planning process and she was great to work with, making the reception planning part of our wedding so much easier! We had our wedding reception at the Ridnour Room August 29th. We rented the space from Friday at 10 am and decorated that day and had our rehearsal dinner there that night. On Saturday we had our reception which was amazing! The space allows you to bring in your own caterer and booze. It saved us so much money. Last minute we decided to keep the room until Sunday at noon which was very reasonably priced and so worth it! It allowed us to keep our reception going until 2 am and then return the next morning to clean up. Crystal was always quick to respond to any questions my husband and I had because of covid restrictions. We had to call her a couple times with set up and clean up questions and she always answered her phone. I would definitely recommend this space to anyone looking for a reception space. I have to come by to leave a review for the amazing experience we had at the Ridnour Room. The past weekend we held our family reunion there with family traveling from around the country. Being as though this was our first time hosting things got a little trying for us, especially finding a hall within the last few weeks. However, after speaking with Jon about their venue, the process became much more pleasant and simple. He connected me to Crystal, of whom it was such a pleasure working with, and it was on from there! Lol…My family LOVED EVERYTHING about your establishment. We held our wedding ceremony in the North Loft and reception downstairs in the Ridnour Room. We catered in our own food and beverage and decorated the way we wanted. Even the color of the accent lighting … you are in control.
Crystal and Jon were awesome to work with! They walk you through each detail of the historic venue, and give you tips as to what’s been done in past weddings and what you could do with yours. You tell them how you want to set up the chairs/tables, and they do it!

I knew I wanted to have my reception here from the beginning. The character of this place is amazing and the suites that come with the weekend package are beautiful. We did the weekend package for the bigger (North) loft/suite, and rented the smaller (South) loft just for the reception Saturday night. With the weekend package we got the keys for the building and the suite Friday afternoon and had access to it all the way until Sunday afternoon. The kitchens are really nice and since we were able to be in and out of there all weekend, we had the rehearsal dinner there Friday night, and we were able to keep food and snacks in the kitchen so we didn’t have to make a ton of food runs. My now husband and I stayed there Friday and Saturday night, and my bridesmaids and I were able to do our hair and make-up done in there Saturday before the ceremony. The suites also have HUGE jacuzzi tubs and the only thing i was worried about with those was if the hot water would last long enough to actually fill the tub…it did! Some things to keep in mind if you rent the Apothecary: There isn’t a dance floor in the lofts so you have to rent one (I used AAA Rentals-they have different sizes and do set-up/tear down for u). They also don’t do in-house catering or bartending which I liked because I was free to choose my own caterer and bartender. Crystal was amazing to work with-very fast in responding to my questions and very willing to show me the space many many times 🙂 You’re free to set up the tables however you like. You just talk to Crystal about where you want everything, and they do the set-up for you. You also have to rent your own linens and table settings. I got my linens through AAA Rentals as well so they got delivered with the dance floor, and I got my table settings through Hy-Vee. The only little thing I didn’t like was the chairs which seemed a little out-dated, but with everything else being as beautiful as it was, I didn’t even notice when everyone was in there.
